Squall Leonhart, student at the prestigious Balamb Garden, is facing the most important challenge of his young life. This book is both a standalone title and the 180-page preview of an unofficial novelisation of Final Fantasy VIII by Micah Rodney. SeeD: The Beginning retells the early events of the critically-acclaimed game, covering beyond the conclusion of the Dollet mission.

M. J. Gallagher was co-author and project manager on this venture.

First released in 2019, the novella was a collaboration by fan creators from around the world, produced in association with KupoCon.
